What is an RDHAP?
An RDHAP is ...
A Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) is a dental practitioner who specializes in dental hygiene treatment and provides services to underserved populations such as dental HPSA designated areas, skilled nursing facilities, homebound patients, school-based programs, and hospital-settings but not limited to those in In-home w/ special needs or limitations.
Why to utilize an RDHAP?
The RDHAP can practice but not limited to private homes, schools, hospitals, homebound patients homes, foster care institutions, residential and skilled nursing facilities as well as pregnant women put at bed rest.
The RDHAP provides the dental care to those patients in need and dental hygiene education to the care facilities staff, direct care givers and family members to be able to help the patients. Now the underserve are able to have dental hygiene services through an RDHAP rather than no services at all due to their limitations.
Preventative care is very important to all, this helps to avoid stressful and extensive dental treatment that could lead to medical complications.
How can RDHAP benefit your facility/ resident/ or patient?
The RDHAP travels to your facility in where she/he provides the dental hygiene services. Your residents do not need to go to the dental office. This saves residents stress and valuable time of your staff members. Is at there most comfortable and easy access.
How does the RDHAP get paid?
As a Denti-Cal provider, the Denti-Cal insurance compensates me for dental treatment provided.
If the patient has insurance, payment will be due in advance or the day of treatment. Help can be provided submit the claim form for you to your insurance, so you can get insurance reimbursement directly.
If the patient does not have dental insurance, payment is due in advance by patient.
